Well here is the situation. i have been trying to get my family to meet my boyfriend for the past month and well it hasnt worked out. i tell them about him and that he wants to meet them and they just say thing i rather not hear. my brothers feel that there is someone else out there for me. they do not even know him. the thing is that he is not christian. he is catholic. i love this guy and to me he is what i want. well my family thinks that i am just infatuated with him. what?! uh! but they say that ok they will meet him. then i find out that my dad does not want to meet him at all because he is not a christian. what can i do?

I can't believe that you don't think Catholics are Christian! Are you crazy? We believe in God the Father, the Son & the Holy Spirit. We believe that Jesus is our Savior & died for our sins. If that doesn't meet the definition of a Christian then what does?

To answer your question tho, I wouldn't press the matter unless you are going to marry your boyfriend. If you still live at home he should be able to come inside to pick you up; I would just have him do it w/o first telling your parents.

If you don't live at home, perhaps you should wait until you become engaged. A cousin of mine married a man 19 yrs ago whose family didn't approve of Catholics either & they still barely speak to her. So you will need to consider the possibility your father will never come to accept him & will not want to spend any time in his company.
