The death of a relative is one of the most difficult events to deal with. So much depends on how close you were to the family member, and the circumstances of their death. You need to let yourself grieve and give/accept support from others. For me it helped to plan my Mothers' funeral and on the day I determined I would not cry as it was a celebration of her life. Many personal (brief) stories about her life were included as well as favourite hymns and prayers. Her favourite music was played at the beginning and end. It was a true celebration of her. In the following weeks I'd set myself a time limit for crying, after which I had to pull myself together and get on. I still cry sometimes some five and half years after her death. Talk about the person and be realistic, few people are saints it keeps it real remembering them honestly. I'm sorry for your loss.

Maybe you should go to counseling to help you get through it. It does take some time to get over the pain of losing someone close to you. If you need to cry then cry. You have to get it out of your system.
