"you make your own self, your own character and destiny. It is no use complaining about what you might have been, you are the things you have done and nothing more."
Oooh I really like that statement. :)
As for the idea of god, well... there are many ways of looking at it. To me, the one and ultimate god was created in order to answer questions. Take a look at mythology, for instance. All of those stories are a means to answer the unanswerable (such as why seasons exist)... a way of comfort that we are not alone in this world. That's all it is today. People have put their faith in something for that same comfort, that extra boost in their esteem...
Personally, I do favor science quite a bit more. :P It's hard evidence. I can see it. I can touch it. Theories are supported by a strong base (unlike in religion, there's not much to fall back on but faith itself.) As for praying... well... if it suits you. I don't do it. I'd much rather work for what I want instead of making wishes on stars and never putting any effort into the matter myself.
I'm sure you'll get different answers to your question. :P But I... would choose this: "he is a product of mans imagination".
:)

ok, so i do believe that there is a God, whatever name people give him. He is not a man nor a woman and he does not has a family, in terms of wife and kids, as this will be too much of similarity with human life. And human life is so chaotic, and i do not think that God can be chaotic and messy. So, God exists because, (i) we just have to look around you, i mean look at the perfection of nature, how orderly everything is, how organised the cosmos is. Look at the beauty of a baby, or of a rose, or even of a star. Look at how big the universe is. Could it really have just come out of nowhere?? Nothing can be made out of nothing. It cannot just have started to exist. There should be a greater One. (ii) It is in human nature to search for someone or something higher than us. It is something innate. All humans have it. It is the need to worship someone higher. For example, when the Russians became communist they replaced Jesus by Joseph Stalin(General Secretary of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union), this is a fact of the need to worship and the need to feel that there is something more powerful than everything else. And this need makes us feel his presence. (iii) Moreover well, as soon as we accept the existence of a God, as him being a sole creator, then it is so easier to accept one another, i mean, this totally makes everyone equal, in the sense that we are all made from the same God, thus there should be no conflict, no discrimination and no prejudices, we should be one. And this only means PEACE. well, that's what i think...

My understanding is that there is no specific Godly being, but that God resides as the source of everything in everything, and within us. We pull out of the universe whatwe desire according to our thoughts, words, and deeds (actions) however, most are contradicting what they want with their thoughts. They have to be in alignment for the law governing creation to put your desires into reality in the physical world.
Some people are anarchists and quite immoral, but as a human beings we are not designed to be evil, not everyone chooses the right path, many are choosing paths of crime, heck look at our supposed governmental leaders, it's legalized theft.
We are completely free, except that we are enslaved by our governments. Why did we create that as a group in this world is the larger question?
Blessings,
Rani

Yes. The uiverese cannot simply exist with no greater being. THere is a connection one feels when he connects with G-d. You may not believe that and you might never be able to see that, but the way the universe works is caused by something greater than I. I don't believe in Jesus, I believe in one great being. I believe that my life is guided by challenges which for whatever reason I am here to conquer. I have lived long enough to make these decisions from orginally in my 20 not believing their is a G-d.
If you can get to I think theref ore I am. G0d is not phsyical. G-d is spiritual.

That is THE most impossibe question to answer. There is definetily a human curiosity about the mysterious and unknown and thats what makes us so unique. I personally think that "God" is just a feeble attempt at explaining said mysteries, but the funny thing about that is that God himself must have come from somewhwere so its much like shooting yourself in the conceptual foot when you try to explain away lifes mysteries with a God.

product of man's imagination. I bet if everyone's memory was completely erased and the age of humans just "started over", religion would evolve. why? to answer those questions like how did we get here and why is the sky blue. But now, as such an evolved age, we can disprove these things.
It's human nature to be curious and want your questions answered. That's where religion comes in.

I believe God is real but everyone has there own opinion. I attend a baptist church and I have also read the Bible and many other books on God. Your questions is, is there really a God? That you will have to find out on your own. I suggest you read the Bible but found you a study Bible it will help you better comprehend. Please do not try to add science to anything that is in the Bible remember he is God so therefore he can do anything. Next, I suggest you pray to him but when you pray you have to believe you have to have faith trust me you will feel his presents. Also, while you are praying and getting to know God the devil, satin will try to inter fer because he doesn't want you to have a personal relationship with God. So believe and have faith in him he is a true savior I pray that you do find him and if you need any help are question along the way you can email me anytime.
God Bless You and Your Family

Its not of any consequence simply to tell from ones own beliefs that God exists . We as human beings all believe something and we only know from our own hearts just exactly what that something is . Common sense tells us however what science can never prove . Science tells us that Gods existance is not provable simply by applying scientific methods. And science is absolutly correct in this case . Divine existance can not and will never be proven using the means required to accumulate scientific theory . But our own hearts attest to what can not be seen by looking with the naked eye . We know that God exists simply by our need for Him , if not for the fact that we can look at the stars and the heavens beyond and even at ourselves and marvel at the awesomness of it all . God is real , not because i say so , but simply because He has left His footprints on every aspect of mankinds existance . He is awesome beyond simple belief , and the Word that He has given to us endures even to this day . ' take Me upon your self and learn of Me ' .

God exists as an experience of people; that's all we can really know in the conventional sense -- if you experience god, then you know it to be true that god "exists". If you don't, then you are correct that it is not true. It is not a product of imagination -- it may be a real experience. The nature of experience, the real nature of it, is such that we can't say anything more intelligent than "god exists for me" or "god does not exist for me." If we claim god exists or does not exist for everyone, we're just being arrogant and ... maybe even unintelligent... sure, if god exists for you, it may be a god that exists for everyone, but it's still only by your personal experience, limited necessarily to your own mind, that you "know."
The rest of what you say is just holding forth an opinion instead of asking an honest question... Save it for your answers, please. ;-)
