i use to have warts on my hands and they went away... i thought this may be the virus in my body flaring back up...is there a differance in genital warts and hpv??

HPV is the exact virus that causes genital warts.

Genital warts can spread to hands if you are not careful to wash your hands. Warts on your hands could also be a different virus as well. (If you have them in your genitals, then it is probable that it is the same virus, though).

well, once you had warts, you have hpv.... lifelong... it's a virus that stays inactive in your nerves... everytime your immune system is down (when having feaver or something like that) it might show up again as warts...
genital wars and hpv are connected... there is like a hundred different sub types of hpv and without a test it's hard to tell which one you have... there is a vaccine for it which might help after you got exposed but it wont cure it... however it's usually not lifethreatening...

well hpv is the virus that causes genital warts. You can get hpv and never get warts because there are hundreds of strands of hpv and only a handful of them cause warts.
