This weekend my wife made me watch a MTV show called 'My sweet 16". The show featured these stuck up, rich (and in most cases) out of shape spoiled brats planning and having parties for their birthday.

The parties were QUITE elaborate and these spoiled brats were complaining that the parties were not enough and would be happy with nothing less than a new car...

Now, these girls have NO idea what the real world is like and will turn out to be rich spoiled adults (the really annoying kind). I blame the parents because there is NO WAY these brats will be a positive force in society when they get older.

Should the parents be punished for raising such terrible children???

Yes, they should be. But, along the same lines, so should every single parent that keeps having kids in order to get a bigger welfare check. It hits both extremes.

The one you reference is just an ugly one.

And MTV should be held responsible for lowering the IQ of the entire country by putting such a vapid and terrible show on the air.

I agree, my sister made me watch it one time and the girl on there had been adopted along with her brother by a rich man and his wife, it even showed them visiting their old house and the girl would talk about how bad it was living there, it's nice someone took her and her brother in but that girl was a total
b*tch once "she" had a lot of money, and she was mean to other girls because they didn't have plenty of money like her.
You would think she would be a little nicer considering she was once to poor, and people were nice enough to take her and her brother on, but no way, she was a spoiled girl who was nasty toward people because they were "below" her.

I think the show is over-rated with nothing but a bunch of spoiled girls who have nothing better to do but spend their parents money and degrade people

You don't think they are getting punished enough with the spoiled little darlings they are raising who will NEVER leave their houses? I'm afraid stupidity isn't illegal. But I know what you mean. I saw that show too. I have one turning 16 shortly. She's asked for any cash that we might have used for a party. I like her style.

The thing is, they WILL be punished. For every Paris Hilton (who somehow earns money on her name alone) there are heiress children all over America leaching off of their parent's until the day either one of them dies. Secretly I hope they're all punished when their 16 year old daughter inevitably dies while crashing the brand new Mercedes SL500 they just got at their party.

Yes. I have a sixteen year-old brother who got to drink a bottle of champagne for his b-day. It's rediclous how much they get spoilled and they have no appreciation for money whatsoever.

YES. They are abusing those girls by pampering them to wits end. The real world is going to bite their butts when they grow up.
