i juust moved into a new cottage and is freezing, the windows are covered in plastic. what should i do?

the windows are going to be replaced soon but i want to know other "tricks" to keep myself warm without blowing my gas bill sky high. i thought about a kersone heater? please help

Then, do the same thing on the interior by adding a layer of plastic. This will cause a dividing air space between the inside and outside. You should feel the difference right away.

How about a wood burning stove...They are very efficient and quite easy t install using your existing chimney or run a exahust pipe through the wall and straight up.there is special pipe for that but it is well worth it.I have a stove that nearly eliminates all need for gas heat..
