If you take a look at Virginia, you'll see that it literally works the way the old holocaust quote goes "First they came for the Jews, but I was not a Jew..."
They ARE now taking rights away from straights, making it much more difficult to get a divorce. People in abusive marriages are going to need to PROVE abuse, which you may or may not know is exceedingly difficult, particularly with verbal / emotional abuse. Not to mention that you've got women's relationships essentially dependant upon male judges...
So...rights for ALL are important to all.

Nope - human rights should be available to all people, whether gay, straight, black, white, male, female, short, tall, fat, skinny, or cross-eyed.
To the homophobes who answered here - what difference does it make to you whether two guys or two women marry each other? Most of the people who protest gay marriage say it's to "defend" marriage. Does the fact that two guys love each other make you want to divorce your spouse or have an affair? What with about half of all marriaged ending in divorce already, I don't see marriage as an institution that needs defending - it needs fixing.

No. Some of my best friends are gay and I care about them very much. Secondly, discrimination affects everyone - if one is willing to stomp on the rights of someone else, they don't deserve their own. Gay rights are human rights, and we are all members of the human race.

If we are all here, then its for a reason.
Gay people are needed for population control.
Straights are needed to make gays.
Aside from that, people of different sexualities can be friends.
Which provides emotional support, inter-cultural bonding, awareness, and general lack of ignorant people.

straights may not need gays, and vice versa, however they are here to stay and should be recognized as fellow americans. i'm not sure what rights exacly you are referring to,could you expand. most that i'm aware of are just wanting the same rights as other citizens.

You must have a really boring life if the highlight of your pathetic day is to troll on the LGBT section.

We don't really need straights approval. You like it or not, things are changing.

Gee, "someone" I have read some of your other comments and it sounds to me as though you might have some issues with your own sexuality?
