California New York least respected-highest tax states most liberal, middle class leaving both states in droves. Georgia, North Carolina lower taxes home to rising black middle class and entrepreneurs.

Being in the ad business, I can tell you that California is the state vryone watches for new ideas and products.
Every major car company, foreign and domestic has a facility there, and they watch the trends of Ca customizers to incorporate in their designs.
California is also the leader in governmental policy. Prop 13 and 3 strikes started there. Now Ahnold is doing something about kids health insurance.
The saying is : It starts in California and moves East."
I don't know if all that makes it the most respected, but certainly is the most important.
Least has got to be Florida. More stupid things happen there than anywhere else.

Most respected has got to be where the population and the money is, I would say New York, or California. Least respected would have to be somewhere rural like Arkansas, or Oklahoma.

Tennessee is the most respected since they saved America from the disgrace of the horrible Algore from being elected in 2004.
The least respected is NY because they elected a carpet bagging power hungry liberal bedwetting moonbat for senator.

If Washington DC counted as a state, it would be least respected.
Of regular states, Rhode Island is least respected because it is so small and New York is most respected

New York, Massachussetts and California - least respected because of the idiots they elect and send to Congress.

Mass. is making strides into the modern era, while alabama (which i picked only because its central to the South as a whole) wants to live in the 1930s forever.
