I wasn't going to reply to this question, since it has so many answers, but I saw some misinformation and wanted to correct it.
First-- NEVER Douche. Ever. Period. Douching will actually increase the likelihood of developing a yeast infection, or another type of infection called bacterial vaginosis (BV) which is often confused for yeast.
Second-- make sure you have a yeast infection. Don't self-diagnose. Your doctor can tell if it's yeast or BV or simple vaginosis. All the treatments are different, and if you treat for yeast and actually have something else you can make it worse. Just because monistat is available over the counter doesn't mean it's harmless. If you don't have a yeast infection, monistat will further alter the vaginal ph and mask other types of infections.
Third-- your diet (like drinking to much soda) can impact your vaginal flora. Yeast needs sugar to grow, so that could have an impact. You could also have an underlying medical condition (like diabetes) that makes the likelihood of this having an impact on your vaginal flora even greater. Other things (like antibiotics, sweating in non-cotton panties) can cause vaginal imbalance as well.
So, prevention is key-- like eating yogurt or using a natural vaginal suppository that contains acidophilis bacteria, and not douching. But, if you think you already have one-- see you doctor so she or he can make sure and recommend appropriate treatment.
Hope this helps!!!

If you are sexually active, you could have gotten it from a partner.
Antibiotics will cause it, they kill off the healthy bacteria in your body. So if you have been on antibiotics that caused it.
Eat Yogurt with live cultures (read the label) and take Acidophiles tablets from the health section of the drug store. These will help correct your PH balance and eliminate the problem.
Avoid all sweets as they feed the yeast infection.
In the past I have used Monostat with no luck. So I used Iodine Douche several times in one week and eliminated the problem.
While douching isn't common these days, it is nothing but an internal bath. How bad can that be?
I keep baby wipes in the bathroom while dealing with this problem.
Good Luck.

A yeast infection is caused by bacteria that grows in ur vagina. Does that sound like soda could cause that? Soda doesn't contain yeast. If over the counter treatments have not worked, go to ur gyno.

No. Soda isn't the cause. Yeast infections are caused by imbalances of the body. One really common one is stress. Another is taking antibiotics.
What are you doing about it? You can get Monostat for it. If that doesn't work, see your doctor. You need to have it cleared up.

Yes. All of the sugar in soda provides food for yeast to grow.

Answerlad has given you a great answer ...
Just one more thing ... a female gyn once advised that proper drying is also key ... most women towel dry with an already damp towel ... and as weird as this sounds she advised to blow dry the area to ensure you're not leaving it damp. A lot of times if you start the day with moisture put on cute little non breathable fabric panties and then your best fitting tight jeans ... moisture seems to create or enhance the problem ...
