I agree with you. I would only add that as long as Atlanta tries to do whatever it takes to make Vick successful, the team will continue to under perform. Unfortunately, they don't have the courage to admit that Vick is a so-so quarterback and will never be a great leader.

It doesn't seem like the move from college to the pros works out very well. Spurrier is more of an offensive genius than Petrino and look how miserably he performed. I don't think Petrino is the answer for the Falcons.
As far as job loyalty that stuff is pretty much history. It's dog eat dog. You are right though in that Petrino was a fool to get involved in the Auburn debacle.

They were talking about this move on ESPN radio this morning, and the consensus seemed to be that Michael Vick may not be the quarterback much longer with Petrino taking the helm. Look for Matt Schaub to get a look in training camp b/c he is a free agent after next season.

You're right, he is an offensive genius...in the college game. I don't think it's going to work out for him in Atlanta. He does have a very prolific offense though with Vick, Dunn, Ashley Lelie, Crumpler, Rossum as a returner, and the all-time points leader(Morten Anderson). He won't win any Super Bowls though.

The only way to unleash the total potential of mike vick is to make him eithar a running back or a reciever so as long as vick is a QB the team will struggle

i think that if petrino can install an offence that uses more of a vertical passing game that he will draw the most from vick, lets not forget that vick threw for over 3000 yards in dan reeves offence, the west coast was a bad fit for vick and he suffered because of it, vick is to talented and is the most dangerous player in the leauge

Surprised that he went considering what he had at Louisville, but I guess money talks.
It's tough to be successful in Atlanta (throughout their history, the Falcons have little better than a .400 winning percentage), but we'll see how he does.
