Hi Kitten, I sympathise with you, I've had two stolen, one recovered with the engine blown and one burnt out after missing two weeks, I've had cars broken into as well, glass smashed etc etc.
Thing is my job is car related and I can assure you that some of the newer ones are easier to steal than the older ones, these days it's more a job of hacking than anything and that can be alot easier than hot-wiring!
Point is, it doesn't really matter whether you have an old car or a new one, if they want it they will take it. The best you can do is fit a tracker, so that at least you know WHERE it has gone!
Also think yourself lucky that your car was easy to steal, the ones that are hard to steal are still stolen, but they just do it by robbery or hijacking; both potentially causing YOU personal injury, and nothing is worth that!
It's a society problem, caused mainly by the haves living amid the have nots. Not a car security issue like many think, and until it is dealt with as such, car crime will continue.

Well since you said please...
I had a car stolen once. My Ex boyfriend did it.
I can't imagine anyone trying to steal a Metro. Not on purpose anyway. (no offense or anything but it is not a porche, hell it's not even a Mazda.) Maybe the person was homeless and needed a place to sleep? In that case... A little less anger is in order and a bit more sympathy.
Sounds like you might want to check into all your old disgruntled Ex friends or boyfriends though... It happens more than you might think where it is someone the owner actually knows.

yeah i have had one car stolen , how the f*ck they managed to get it started i'll never know cos it wouldnt bloody start for me ! I have also had another car hit by a stolen car, it really pisses me off , the mentality of lets take something of someone else's. I work bloody hard to pay for the little that i have and some dick comes along and just takes it !! The thing is they know they can get away with it nothing is done , i actually feel sorry for the police sometimes they go out , do a job, catch a criminal and then the f*cking judge slaps their wrists and tells em not to do it again , some deterant eh !?

Its more common in older cars now because most people with a newer or more expensive car have alarms and immobilizers so the thieving little scumbags are to dumb to get around the alarm system so just go for easy pickings (old cars with no alarms). Just buy a cheap alarm the flashing red light on the dash will normally keep them away.

I had nearly every car I've owned broken into at least once lol. The older cars are more prone as they're so easy to get into and often dont have immobilzors.
If you have a cd head unit, make sure not to leave it in the car- cover up any other valuable items such as speakers / shopping bags etc.
Invest in a steering lock and clifford alarm if it happens often. Just count yourself lucky your car hasen't been nicked! lol

I had an Mk2 Astra stolen years ago, but they panicked and abandoned it after just 6 foot when the steering lock came back on.
Buggers got the stereo, but it was faulty anyway!
Ah, karma.

I had a bike stolen back in the early 70's, never recovered. Probably stripped for parts, then remaining parts dumped
