I have 3 kids 15, 10 and 3. I'm good at arts and crafts. I also can be trained to do almost anything and am a quick learner. I am also a bit agoraphobic and like to stay home. Any suggestions would be great.

I have signed up with http://www.purplehipposparties.com/aparisi (similar to Build-a-Bear) and http://www.schoolpals.net (fundraisers).

Good luck!

There are so many possibilities. You can use your arts and crafts talents to make things to sell, you could offer to babysit another child in the neighborhood, there are jobs that you can do from your home. Research some of these places that say work from home. My parents used to do the envelope stuffing work that you hear about. It wasn't the greatest work but it was extra income. Personally, if you just want to pretty much stay at home I would really suggest some child care. Maybe some before or after school for the school aged, or maybe for a few hours during the day when other mothers have things to do. I am not saying have a full fledged child care center. Just some part time stuff.

Hey Marcy. There are plenty of ways to make money from home and those who say otherwise just don't have the drive to succeed or are just negative people who have had bad experiences. We have tried a few other businesses that failed in the past. didn't give up and finally found one that works. I am a stay at home mom of 3 and I can work my business around my schedule. I don't have to stock pile or do any billing, No selling. With whatever you do make sure you research it. weigh the pros and cons. But in this economy more and more people are having home businesses as it is a good source of income and there are not a lot of jobs out there.

Answer: You should stay away from CashCreate, Treasure Trooper and other survey Web sites.

It is a waste of time and will cause you unhappiness.

If you choose to be suckered in and sign up to take surveys and receive, free trials considered you were warned. The minute you give them your credit card and personal information you have now opened your computer to unwanted cookies on your hard drive, annoying pop-up windows and if you are on a PC you open your computer to viruses that can wipe you out.

A lot of work to collect the "reward payments" that payout is not worth the effort over time. You will need to sign up for many types of offers, most of which require you to use a credit card. You start a week trial service with varies types of businesses or services, such as, an Internet service provider, book club, credit monitoring service, etc. to get your reward. If you don't cancel the trial, you end up being charged for the service and each service has different rules about how and when you can cancel. Very cumbersome!

Since you will need to sign up for at least a dozen offers before you get to $100 in rewards, it's very easy to forget what you have signed up for, or the problems you will have canceling in time to to be charged the full amount. The Cash Create recruiters you see here over exaggerate how much money you can earn because once you've done the high-dollar trials ($8-10 each), you are left with small rewards of a dollar or two. The survey business is not an efficient way to make money and you are more than likely to loose money in the end.

Your local library will have a number of books devoted to at-home business ideas with sample business plans, case studies of success, and start up information re: licenses, taxes, accounting, marketing, etc. It will run around $80 to start up your business but your return on investment is limited only by the time and energy you wish to put into being successful. There are people making more than full time income from part time work ... will you be one of them? Start out with the library and invest a little time into reading and planning what's right for you.

If you can make some quality products in arts and crafts,,, maybe you could open your own online store. Maybe sell craft materials or sell children craft toys, games or activities.
