A polygon is a plane figure that is bounded by closed planar paths composed of a finite number of sequential line segments. The straight line segments that make up the boundary of the polygon are called its edges or sides and the points where the edges meet are the polygon's vertices. The polygon is called simple, if its boundary is described by exactly one closed path that has no self-intersections. If several closed and non-intersecting paths are needed to describe its boundary, the polygon has holes and is not simple.

Area of Circle:(pi)radius*radius

Area of Rectangle: length*width

Area of Square: (Just a rectangle with four equal sides, see above)

Area of Trapezoid: 4-sided figure with one pair of parallel sides. To find the area take the sum of its bases, multiply the sum by the height of the trapezoid, and then divide the result by 2.

A polygon is just a many sided closed figure.
The area of a rect, square, and parallelogram are all
base * height
A trapezoid is 1/2(base 1(the bottom) + base 2(the top)) * height.
Area of a circle is pie*radius^2. Circumference is pie*diameter.

well the areas differ to how big the polygon is (a polygon is simply a figure)(square, circle, triangle all of that stuff)and you find the area by using differen formula that u can find in the back of your math book or find on the internet.....such as math.com
