Should welfare payments be limited?

People who have been on welfare for 5 generations, squealing racism as a reason not to look for work, have been the parasites of America since the 60's. I say that welfare should be run like unemployment. The more you pay in, the more you get back. If you pay nothing, you get nothing. Also a time limit is needed and a cap on payments, including food stamps, at two chitterlings (children).

I say they should also have to take a drug test to collect a check, we have to take one at some of our jobs. They should also be required to take a contraceptive injection to prevent conceiving a child when they can't afford the ones they already have while on welfare, and they should also be made to do at least 8 hours of community service work such as picking up trash on the highway or work in a sewage treatment plant or clean cages at animal control, before they can collect a check somebody already does this everyday and I am sure they could use an assistant and I would like to get something in return for my tax dollars.

The quickest way to get on your feet is to get off of your ***.

Hey curlycute yes there are more whites than blacks on welfare, but look at the statistics that count X% of blacks and Y% of whites and then see what you think.

I agree with you. I am tired of paying people to have kids. I am in my early twenties and I make decent money and the government thinks that because I have no kids that they can take out more from me to give to welfare. Just this past check 500.00 was taken out!!!! I work in banking and I overheard this lady talking to her friend that she was thinking about having a sixth child so that her check will increase. I really feel that they should cap the amount that is given at two children. I'm not against helping people in need, but there is too much room for abuse of the system. I'm not talking about the people who actually work and still require help and once they are on their feet they QUIT being on welfare.

Umm. I don't think welfare payments should be limited. I think there should be some type of insight to see who is taking advantage of the system and who actually needs it. Welfare is only meant to be used for a short period of time. And people who intentionally play the system should be taken off welfare. And I see this in all races of people, just to put that out there.

I agree with you. Here in Ontario, now you have to get a job, no matter what. You have to be working to get welfare. They have wonderful resources and can help. I think that you should be limited to what you get and how long you get it.
