Google Earth pay for version will give you a detailed version, the Free one is very generic... too much so. But can give people a rough idea. Depends on if you want to let them know what block your home is on.
If you have a local version of mapquest, you may be able to get a good shot of your general area, better than free Google Earth

google earth is definitely your best choice . but to get a good close view , you would probably need a premium account there , which might not be totally free
