Lesbians have relationships with women because they are wired that way, not because of bad relationships with men. There is no point in being celibate until another "man/woman relationship" because they are still never going to psychologically, emotionally and physically respond to a man.
However bisexuals can some times choose to be one way or the other. I have always responded to a certain type of person and some times they are male and some times they are female. HOWEVER, I have horrible taste in men and at 53, coming to grips with that was an important step in my personal happiness.
I am life partnered with a woman because that is what is healthiest for me, not because some man did me wrong.
I personally love men, and love to be friends with men, but tend to choose "fixer uppers". With a woman I get someone who stands on her own two feet, but who still kneels at mine. What better way to live?
