Its a statistical phenomenon. Things look quite good in regards to numbers but there is something else behind this that is not tested for. Think this way: Why do all men who have a longer life-expectancy marry? Why do only short-living women marry? Women who have to power to live long don't marry. A bad guess would be (for a man) to marry only to live longer ;-) (For a woman not to marry is not that bad an idea ;-)))

I have never heard that married women live shorter lives than single women. In fact, what I have heard is that married men and women both live longer lives than single men and women.
In fact, quite a few married women outlive their husbands. My source list does not cover this issue, but does preface the fact that single men live shorter lives than either married or single women.

Men live longer when they are married because their wives usually make sure they take care of themselves. Sharing your life with someone can be a wonderful thing both physically and mentally.
I don't agree with your comment about women living "shorter" lives when they are married. Where did you come up with that information?

'Cause women become slaves when they get married. They have to take care for everything in the house. Most men don't know how to do the ironing, to wash clothes,to cook...they just sit and enjoy their wives' care.That's why the live longer!

Because Women do most of the work in the relationship & the Men just sit around & drive us crazy! Moral of the story...stay single and have " friendz"

Ive heard that one and all the mugs get used and that the wonderful china gets left on the shelf i think of single women folk in all probability stay longer because of the fact the married ones are too busy with the aid of the seems of it looking after the adult adult males that stay longer

women have more stress as married ladies, rather than singles. They have to worry about every little thing they do, plus kids and a husband too. Its not fair, but its been that way forever...GL;)
