Are the conservatives really the reform party in disguise? Will Harper be prime minister one year from now?

The current conservative government was formed but the amalgamation of the old Progressive conservatives and the Alliance (formally the reform party). They do have slightly more conservative values than The Canadian public as a whole seem to reflect.

Remember however they are a minority government, they do not represent Canada as a whole and need the approval of at least one more party to pass legislation.

Canada is a part of north America and there are certainly parallels in culture, however Canada has a different values than their American counterparts and that does reflect in politics. Canada is more concerned very concerned about climate, health and wellness and of course out NATO obligation in Afghanistan. America seems to be caught in bi-partisan BS regarding morals (abortion, gay rights), their government is very much pre-occupied with keeping the public paralyzed with fear, this is prevalent in the popular American sentiment against all things non christian, and their bordering countries.

As for the question of will Harper be PM next year, there is already talks of a spring election, Jack Layton is planning to put forth a non-confidence vote over the handling of the war in Afghanistan and environmental concerns. This is reinforced by Harper's recent shuffling of cabinet.

It is my opinion that Canada will be at the polls sooner than expected, The conservatives have been consistently loosing steam the polls and will most likely not maintain their fragile minority.

Many individuals are very uneducated about the previous, the U. S. did not unmarried handily end WW2 like you actually proclaimed, Canada really unmarried handily liberated the Netherlands and we made it deeper into France on D-day than the different usa, such as sure the U. S., there have been many different international places that fought which led to the suitable of that warfare. I`ve met endless those who had no idea Canada change into even in WW1, WW2, Bosnia, Korea, Boer Wars and Afghanistan! The Russians also performed a great function in ending the Holocaust, saying the U. S. ended it on my own is the kind of vanity and lack of expertise that makes human beings despise individuals. the U. S. is the really developed usa contained in the global that doesn`t have an popular well being care device, if that makes something human beings (Canada, Germany, France, Italy, Sweden, Japan, Netherlands..etc etc record is going on) ``Socialists`` then so be it on the suitable of the day each usa I listed has an prolonged existence expectancy and a extra effective ranked well being care device than the U. S.. lower back its not all individuals, there are those that are knowledgeable, yet there are plenty that supply individuals a foul call.

Heaven's no.....................I still have friends who never lock their houses and cars and who are not afraid to share their views about the government and people running it, without fear that they will be label ed un patriotic..............We also know a lot about the states but many of the Americans still think we live in Igloos and and get around by a sled of dogs. And I am not lying. At the same point the need to be loved accepted and have a purpose is a universal thing that all humans wish to achieve no matter where they are...........So Canadians Americans Mexicans Jews etc have obvious differences and similarities but that human factor is always there......................

Definitely. The polls had the world record shortest new leader bump for Mr Dion and the Conservatives are once again in the lead. In addition, another Liberal has crossed the floor to be with the winning side. Easy Conservative majority in next election. Honesty, integrity and actually doing something is a new approach to most liberals, and they can't quite understand the power it creates.

I don't think so overall, but I do think their youth are affected and manipulated by our media, just as the media has done world wide. Hopefully they have more sense than our young do.
