My wife is in her 7th week and she has very bad headaches. No idea what triggers them, probably hormonal, just wondering if anyone had any ideas for some relief, I feel so bad for her. Compresses really don't work and we are not too keen on taking tylenol.

Check with your doctor but it may be that Tylenol will be OK. It's fairly mild as pain relievers go. The other thing is, how much daily caffeine did your wife have before she found out she was pregnant? If she was used to having a certain level and then went cold turkey because of the baby, that can cause the MOTHER of all headaches! (Pun intended.) Again, check with your doctor but it's possible that she could have a cup of tea or coffee once in a while just to ease those headaches. Some doctors are a little more easygoing when it comes to things like that. Also, did you use hot compresses or cold? Whichever one you did not try, try that, it may help. Also make sure your wife is getting enough fluids, sometimes you can run a headache when you're dehydrated.

Good luck and congratulations to you both! You sound like a good husband and a good dad-to-be.

Sinus problems can cause prolonged headaches; high blood pressure and these can go on and on (it is usually what sends a person to doctors); ear problems. There is a medical dictionary called Tabers Dictionary and headaches have a listing of two pages...Stress is another(that is why for exercise to clear everyday "do this" "can you do this" and get toxins moving). A doctor would help the situation to at least find out why for headaches...

I would be careful what I would take to when pregnant.

Has she gotten enough sleep? Is she cutting out caffeine? Sometimes not drinking caffeine can give one headaches.
Hot bath tub? Not to hot of course. Call the doctors nurse and see what he/she says to do...

Sleep helps most things naturally. See if this would help her....and be careful like you are doing as far as putting anything into the body of a pregnant lady.

Good luck I sure hope she gets to feeling better!

Headache is a pain in the head, scalp or neck. Headaches can be
caused by minor problems like eyestrain, lack of coffee or more
serious reasons like head injury, brain tumors, encephalitis and
meningitis. Taking painkillers continuously can have harmful side
effects, so it is better to modify your lifestyle. More information

I had the same thing and I could find no solution other than Tylenol and a dark room. My doc said that regular tylenol is perfectly safe for the baby. I took one and buried my head under the covers til it eased up. Good Luck.

go to an herbal store and get some peppermint oil, have her or you rub it into her temples, then have her lie down in a dark, quiet room for a couple of hours. This is what we do for our 14 year old daughter who gets migraines all the time, good-luck!
