Well that depends, if the person was an abuser of any kind, then ABSOLUTELY, I would take the child away.
BUT, if not, then I think both parents should be involved in the upbringing. It's a horrible thing to take the child away from a parent, the child will only suffer. I would get a lawyer and pursue this.
Good luck

No. The child will seek you out later in life. Keep a diary of your thoughts for the child. Buy presents. Write letters. Vidieo tape messages. It is one sided communication but the child will appreciate it later. I am sorry that this happened to you. Peace out.

It is SOOOOOOOOO wrong and only hurts the child to not allow the other parent into its life. the only cases where it would be ok is if there was some sort of abuse involved with the said child. But if you did none of those things then its your RIGHT and your childs right to see eachother. im so sorry this is happening to you. i wish you luck

Every child deserves a mother and a father, that's natural, don't punish your child. Let your child have his other parent.
You may not deserve what the scoundrel did but your child is innocent, he/she did nothing.

I AM SO SORRY!! how horrible! was it court ordered that you can't be with the child or was it the mom? if it wasn't court ordered then you can go to court and hold to your rights to be a parent to the child! GOOD LUCK! hope things work out!

Go to court for your visitation, you're legally entitled to at least joint custody, as long as you weren't abusive, and you're not on drugs/alcohol/gambling or something illegitimate.
