It is not a law that they have to give it to you at the cheaper price but most stores will do it. I went to Target last week and there was a stack of placemats on a shelf. The tag on the shelf said $1.99, but when they scanned them they came up as $9.99. They refused to sell them for the price on the shelf so I told them I didn't want them. There was also an outfit I was buying for my son and when I got it up to the register I noticed that it had a mark on the shirt and they refused to offer a discount on that too.

It's called "the information is loaded incorrectly in the system" . Bring it to someones attention and they will take care of it. Many grocery chains will give you the item if it scans more than advertised. I watch these items like a hawk and very often catch the mistake.

They blame it on the computer if they get caught, and laugh their butts off if you pay it.

Don't ever think these are accidents.
