Jimi Hendrix(Cherokee) and Elvis Presley(Cherokee) are the best of all time!

Lucie Idlout is among the best up and coming Native rockers today.... What can I say to describe her? Go listen to her and then you'll know.... You can check her out at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q6a25dGU9Uc Her myspace music page is at http://www.myspace.com/lucieidlout

Kashtin and Eagle & Hawk are a couple of my favorite Native rock bands.

Cher, Johnny Cash(Cherokee) and Tina Turner are Native too but don't know if you can really consider them rockers lol.

Although there is a hip hop artist out there called Kaluyu'ti (Onyo'ta a:ka First Nation of the Thames) that I've only heard one song of his at http://thegatheringofgoodminds.netfirms.com/Kaluyuti_The%20Peaceful%20Warrior%20Music%20Page.htm that seems interesting.... :)

But then if you are including Native hip hop you have to mention Litefoot! http://www.litefoot.com/

Indigenous is an awesome Native Rock band. They are 2 brothers, a sister and a cousin from the Nakota Sioux Nation. They grew up on their rez in South Dakota.

They can really rock out but they also have a nice bluesy sound to them too. Seen them in a concert a few times. I have their record, "Things We Do", it's pretty good. They've also been on Letterman or Leno. Mato is the main guy who sings, plays lead guitar and is the main songwriter. When they first came out back in the 90's, I remember reading an article about the band and they compared his guitar skills to Jimi Hendrix. And let me tell you, it was no joke when I saw them live.

Here's their Myspace page: http://www.myspace.com/indigenousrocks

I think it has some songs from thier most recent album.

There are so many true Native artists out there. You can check out the NAMMY's. They're like the Grammy's but for Native people.
