My daughter has a school project and she has to make a plain, inexpensive, old fashioned coffin from the western days.It just has to be the coffin shape and thats it.I want to make one with her but not sure of the measurements and cant find a "make your own coffin wesite".Strange i know.I even tried to look up under halloween decorations, nothing there either. Can anyone help us?

This is a site for pet coffins, but I think the design is what you are looking for and it also gives directions with dimensions.

Wooden Coffin Plans

You could always lay down on the concrete and draw out your outline with chalk. Then measure the dimensions and create your own set of plans. Most of the old western time coffins were pine boxes. I would use knotty yellow pine. This sounds like a creepy project. What in the world are you or they going to do with it when you get it built???

Obviously, the old west coffins, were not made out of plywood... so you may want to check with her instructor to see just how 'authentic' this needs to be, before starting, lol.

As to the size... quite often, coffins were made to fit the customer. Your choice there.

Here are some pics... you may find these helpful

If you are planning to start on your woodworking project, this isn't something you should use, it's something that you would be insane not to. Go here https://tr.im/cmbij
Truth is, I've been a carpenter for almost 36 years, and I haven't found anything like this for less than 10's of thousands of dollars.

I tried doing a search just now..... didn't find anything either, sorry you probably could watch an old western movie, hopefully you'll see a funeral.... I can't think of any other way.
