You have been scammed, one of the oldest tricks in the scam book, of course he never received it, it went to another address, or so he will claim, photo copy the receipt and send him a copy, and he will probably say it is the wrong address that you put on the parcel, but don't give up, we all need to crack down on scam, or should I say scum. Hope it goes well for you, good luck.

You should have been given a receipt whichever method of payment you used as they're usually printed out automatically (they are at our P.O.) Royal Mail may not pay out without proof of postage but it may be worth trying to get your money back - tho' I tend to agree with the person who thinks it could be a scam.
there is a form you can get from your local post office which lets you make a claim for goods which have not arrived. I think the current level of cover is around £28 - £30. Good luck!

has long as you have a proof of posting , then i think you would be within your rights to disclaim responsibility, however it is better to state this when putting up your item for sale has some sellers do state that they hold no responsibility for things lost in the post, after all you only have this persons word that this item was not delivered especially if he has asked you to send it to another address.you need to contact the mail delivery you used with your proof of postage and let them know to see if you can trace this parcel, another tip is to always stick a return address on your parcel so it can be returned to you.

It's a total scam. 1. While the subject says "VW Jetta TDI" the text of the email is lazy and refers to "your ad" and "it"--scammers don't like to spend time customizing emails as they answer 1000s per day. 2. He plans to pay you through paypal, but he will send you a slick email instead. The email will say he's sent the money, but that Paypal will hold it for 21 days. The problem is, the email won't be from Paypal and the money won't be visible in your account--which if legit, would be. 3. Of course he's unavailable to talk you by phone. If you could talk to him, you'd realize he isn't an American and is somewhere in, say, Africa. 4. Refers to "agent" for pickup. Then carefully says he will include EXTRA money for agent that he wishes you to pay to the agent via, say, Western Union. He's hoping you will fall for the slick email and think you have been paid when you haven't. The only real money is yours.

Sounds like you are out of luck unless you can get the people to whom you sent the shipment to varify (in writing ) that they recieved the item.
Never ship anything that does not get a delivery reciept for you. I would contact paypal I'm sure they've had this happen many times and they may have a solution for you.

When you list an item on EBay, you should always state that registered mail is preferred. I won't post items with it being registered and always allow for this extra cost in the postage price. In Australia, it is $2.50 to register parcels and you are insured for the first $100. The price for registration obviously increases with higher amounts of insurance.

The seller should be asking the relative about the box. The relative should ask the postman (before too much time goes by) if he remembers delivering the box and where did he put it. If he just put in on the porch, someone may have stole it.
Yes, from now on, make sure you get delivery confirmation. Doesn't cost much.

Hi - sounds like a scam and as someone else has said, thats why you should only ship to confirmed addresses. Def report to eBay and go from there. Theyre great at this sort of thing. If you need any further help, let me know

I would suggest you scan your receipt and send a copy to the buyer. I have been there and done that it is one hard thing to prove but you have a debit receipt. Just make sure you bock out any important numbers that you do not want them to see.

Your proof of postage should suffice. Contact e-Bay and let them handle it.
Lesson for next time...either send to buyer only or require either UPS or FedEx shipping which can be tracked.
