Not in the browsing history nor in the yahoo, google etc search history but the one in the start menu.. "search"..

I rarely see anything in that drop down menu so I am guessing that the program I run deletes that history as well. I run CleanUp. You can try it to see if it deletes what you are asking about.

In the "search" program there is a list of tasks, starting with "Pictures, Music, or Video". The last task is "change preferences" at the bottom. There you will see the last option is "turn off autocomplete".

Tools > internet options > click the 'content' tab' third item down are the settings for 'auto complete' turn it off there.
