This weekend I saw a romantic comedy called "I'm With Lucy". I had never heard of it before & almost missed it but am so glad I did watch it.
So, I was wondering. What movie have you "discovered" that made you glad you were lucky enough to find it???

Thanks for the "I am Lucy" heads up! Will be one I now look for. There are so many movies that we never hear of due to low advertising budget or lack of distribution.

The best one that I never heard of and can recommend is "I Am David". Even reading the DVD jacket because it was in the 2 for $1 rental section, I thought, sounds sort of lame but I will give it ago. It was surprisingly a scene turner that I could not drag myself away from until the very end.

I work in a video store and I'm contstently discovering new movies. I recently took the advice of one of my older customers and rented "Prize Winner of Defiance, Ohio" http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0406158/ It's a true story about how a mother in the 50's & 60's raised ten kids on twenty-five words or less (jingle contests) and it stars Julianne Moore and Woody Harrelson.

The Adventures of Baron Munchausen

When it came out, a friend and I went to the movies to see something else but we missed it. Neither of us had heard of Munchausen, but the title was pretty intriguing, so we saw it.

Wow. Terry Gilliam at his best. If you saw/liked Time Bandits or Brazil, you'll love this one, too.

I could go through a list of movies that I have never heard of before but I wouldn't know which one was best if I hadn't seen it yet.

That being said, I saw "Man on Fire" last year at a time when I had never heard of it and I liked it very much.
