Think of PDF is like a snap shot of your documnet. If you take a polaroid of your document that what you have. In order to write on the documnet you need to have acrobat Writer. In simple terms you need to write on the document and take another snap shot of that document but it still wont be the original snap shot.

You need the full reader/writer.
Alternatively the PDF is locked by the creator, if other than you.
You can ask the creator, or Print the PDF to the PDF Printer, and rebuild the file

PDF is locked. You can use a Composer and print in Post Script format and then make into pdf. or Use Open Office it makes a pdf.

Download "cute pdf" and you'll be able to do what you want in pdf files.

you are probably only using the free viewer too look at or print the file. you'll need the regular program from Adobe if you wish to edit the file or create one from scratch.

try using adobe acrobat 6 with the word ( doc ) converter

All good suggestions. If you have the latest version of Acrobat then what's stopping you is that you have to save it first. Then you can change it.

Maybe you don't have Adobe installed.
