Rubbing noise, can`t believe I am doing this

As many people that answer this question is possibly the number of different answers you will get back. Personally, I practice this exercise quite often... only with a bogie inbetween. It doesn't really make a noise that I can hear but it feels quite nice on the thumb and finger. Too, it makes the bogie easy to disgard.
