Please only serious responses.
I have been experiencing an odor in my private area. I think this could be related to the pill. I was off the pill for a month and in that time I did not notice an odor everything was back to normal (nothing usual). The moment I went back on BC the odor came back. I asked my OBGYN and she didn't know and had never heard anything like that. I know I am not crazy, my boyfriend and I notice it.
So I was wondering if anyone else has experienced something like this and what you did to help the situation?
I feel like such a "dirty" person. I shower daily and use a feminine body wash in that area. I wear cotton panties, as I know cotton breathes better.
Thank you for your responses in advance. :)

Since the pill is supposed to regulate your hormones, I totally believe it could cause such a reaction. The only way to find out though is to switch pill brands - there are so many out there it's worth a try.

Sweetie, some birth control pills can,as it messes with your hormones a bit.The slightest difference, can cause an odor or discharge. It doesnt mean your dirty, however if it really bothered me that much i would suggest getting a second opinion.Usually if there is a horrid odor it may be a sign of an infection.Usually if an infection is the diagnosis some sort of discharge(other than the normal clear/white/colorless discharge) is present. The least little thing can throw off the natural bacteria balance in the vagina.Douching only kills good bacteria, that you need.I have not experienced this, however it is something that you may want to get a second opinion about.Good luck hun and have a good day.

Do not be embarrassed by your feminine odor. Many women experience changes in the smell of their private area from time to time. The only way to know where the odor may be coming from is to know what happened before you started to smell it. First, lets look at you taking the BC pill. The pill is designed to control the level of hormones in your body and your body ph level may be changing and causing the odor. So ask for a different kind of bc. Second, look at the color of your discharge, it could be a sign of an std or vaginitis from using feminine body wash on your private area. Ask your ob/gyn to test you for std's or go to your local drug store and pick up Monista,t or miconazole from a family dollar, use this for 7 days and if it does not go away return to your doctor. Hope this helps.

I have the same problem and I once caught my fiancee talking about it to his co workers behind my back. So embarrasing!! I went to the doctor and they said it was from smoking- I quit and it is still there. I do take the pill, but what are we soposto do? Not take it? The doctor actually said I might have been sexually abused when I was little- but I WAS NOT!
There isnt much that I have tried to help the situation. I use diper wipes when I am done in the bathroom and that seems to help a little. I just seems like no matter how much I do it just comes right back!
I wish I could be more of a help, but I am in the same boat as you and I know how bad it stinks. Good Luck to you in finding some type of "cure:"!

Certain lubes can cause irritation so make sure it has non irritating ingredients like citric acid. Near your period your hormones go out of wack and can cause high sexual arousal is the same for most women. Women don't always orgasm and a woman's orgasm is different from woman to woman as well as if it's a one night fling vs. with a person you love. Your not the only woman who squirts during orgasm though but he is right that not all women do. Do hope your on birth control and use condoms (they not only protect against STD's but yeast or bacterial infections you can spread from partner to partner though not recommended to have sex while you have a infection).

the feminine body wash you use could be causing this, if you are clean you do not need to use such things, they alter the chemical balance of the vagina and this could cause odour and infection.
Try not using the wash and just washing as normal and see if you get a result, or ask to try a different contraceptive pill or even a different method altogether.
get a swab done of the area too to check for an infection.

First, don't douche, it's not good for you at all. It's probably making the odor worse. Second, did your doctor take a swab and culture? if not, find a new doctor that will. I agree changing your birth control pill might work. Also to think about is sometimes bacteria that are normal to your vagina might be overgrowing. This is called bacterial vaginosis and is caused by a bacteria named gardnerella. Often times, it smells fishy, especially after contact with something alkaline, like semen. this is an easy test for your doctor to do to find out if this is happening.

You must be having a discharge which you need to find out why you are having that? have you been on antibiotics. These will cause a yeast infection or discharge. I would try to douche with a medicated solution. If that doesn't work, then I would buy some colloidal silver and drink that. You can get it at natures sunshine on the internet or a health food store. If that doesn't work, then I would go to a homeopathic counselor. She might know what to do....good luck

I don't think just because you are having this problem it means that you are dirty. Have you been checked for any type of female infection? Maybe you should see another doctor. Have you tried douching? Have you checked out other types of femanine products? Just a few suggestions as I've never really heard of this myself.

There isn't much you can do for it. That's just one of the side effects of taking BC. Maybe try a different method of BC and see if that helps you. It might go away, but chances are it will stay with you until you get off of it. Good luck girl! :)
