-11 + (-6)
-11 -6 (because "+" * "-" = "-")
-(11 + 6) (take the "-" as a common factor)
-(17) (solve the internal math)

Hi There

If you are indeed doing Algebra in College, then, something is missing from the question. For an Algebra question, you need basically an unknown which can be represent by alphabet a to z and the objective is the solve the unknown.

Did not see an unknown in you equation. Or you are asking only part of the question ?

Please clarify.

Thanks.
