What happened the first night Silent Night was sung??? my organ teacher asked me but she wont tell me an its buggin me...lol

December 24th, 1818, Silent Night was sung for the first time in Oberndorf, Austria at Midnight Mass in St. Nicholas Church. It was written and sung by Father Joseph Mohr in 1816, and accompanied by guitar. There is some speculation as to whether or not this was because the organ at the church was broken or not.
