We are not allowed to eat at our desks in the office. We do have a microwave in the warehouse, but there's no table for eating there.

The dining area should be clean, sanitary and not exposed to toxic or other noxious elements - dust, mist (oil, chemical, combustion engines, etc.,). In some industries, where there is a continuous operation, employees eat at the equipment/ work station.

Suggest to your boss that a "picnic table" or card tables, or similar accommodations be made in the warehouse.

I am assuming that the reason for not allowing employees to eat at their desks is to project a "business" environment t the pubic.

I'm honestly not sure about specific laws in NJ, but the normal laws or regulations state that you get 1/2 hour if there is a designated dining area (containing refrigerator, microwave, etc), and 1 hour if there isn't.

Technically, a "proper dining area" does not have to exist.
