Anyone know any home remedies for an ear ache? My niece has one & my sister doesn't have any money right now to take her to a doctor.

My grandpa used to smoke and he would blow the smoke into out ears and then put a piece of cotton in it. Within seconds, the earache was gone.♥
If you don't have a smoker in the house, either find one or put a warm towel over the ear. Not hot just warm, but the smoke is better.§
I put warm olive oil in my step-son's ear one time and he damn near hit the roof, it hurt him so bad, and it was just warm.

If the two I mentioned don't help, I suggest you talk, to a doctor, just call her/him on the phone and explain that she has no money to come in. I know there is a good doctor in your area..§

I hope your niece gets feeling better. I know an earache is the pits. Give her lots of hugs, too. Love, Juanita§♥

Both the warm olive oil and the peroxide are excellent answers. The only other solution I have ever heard of is warm salt water. If it is sea salt the better, if not table salt is fine. Have the child lay on the side her ear ache is on to allow the ear canal to fully drain after any of these solutions. The idea of ibuprofen, Tylenol or such for pain is also a spectacular idea.

If the ear ache is due to a cold, congestion or sinus infection try some salt water solution as a gargle and inhalant. The salt is a wonderful way to clear the passages. Should she inhale any be sure to have lots of tissues ready for the drainage. It will definitely cause the sniffles for awhile to break up the blockage or infection. Or some dimetap is always good to help in this case.

Good Luck!

Try Peroxide.. My mom did it for me as a kid and it helps. Pour it in her ear and make her lay down for 10-15 mins with it still in her ear and then she can drain it out. Do this a few times a day. Also give her some Tylenol or Advil extra strength.
