BE7F is the actual hex number you want to convert to decimal right.

B = 11, E = 14, 7 = 7, F = 15 in decimal.

BE7F = 48767 in decimal system

I suppose you r getting a RAM error in your computer!!

BEF7 is in hexadecimal
(The asker corrected it to BEF7, not the original bef74)

You can convert it like this:
Since B = 11, E = 14, 7 = 7, F = 15
The position of the letters/digits determines how everything is added up

B*(16^3) + E*(16^2) + 7*(16^1) + F*(16^0) =
11*(16^3) + 14*(16^2) + 7*(16^1) + 15*(16^0) =
11*4096 + 14*256 + 7*16 + 15*1 =
45056 + 3584 + 112 + 15 =
48767

Therefore, BE7F (hex) = 48767 (dec)
