Movies like "Faranheit 9/11" and "Loose Change". Why don't people research what they watch instead of just believing it? Do people honestly believe that Micheal(dont know how to spell that) Moore is politically correct?
I feel like I can direct and create any movie and people will believe its true. Why can't people question what they see on television like real political addicts?

Movies are strictly for entertainment. Movies like Faranheit 9/11 shouldn't be taken seriously unless you have hard facts to back them up. a fat man behind a camera is not enough, I'm sorry.

I've wondered the same thing. I think I agree with the first answerer, that it's because the masses are ignorant and lazy.
They ignore the fact that Fahrenheit 9/11 contained 59 inaccuracies.
They ignore the fact that Loose Change has been disproven. Repeatedly.
But there are more stupid things that people believe, like that President Bush's IQ was tested at 89. Never mind the fact that Snopes researched it, and found it wasn't true, because:
1. The "institute" that researched it doesn't exist.
2. No such study was actually done.
Another one is that President Bush was reading a book upside down. He was not. It was an altered picture.
It gets really frustrating. I think it's a waste of time to argue with these people. They don't pay any attention whatsoever to the facts.

There have been numerous studies that show that the position of being in a dark theatre beneath a huge, brightly lit screen makes you more predisposed to agree with the message of the content. It doesn't mean you'll believe everything they say, just that you're more likely to agree with something projected on a huge screen than on a small one, or something you read in a newspaper. I think that's kinda interesting.
As for Loose Change...Well, first off, it has been disproven, but the film asked a lot of questions that frankly needed to be asked. When we look at events like the USS Maine explosion, the Reifsteg fire, or the Gulf of Tonkin, we see a history of events that were bent or twisted (if not completely fabricated) by governments in order to provoke wars. So what if 9/11 really was carried out by terrorists? Shouldn't we question it all the same, especially in the wake of the events mentioned above? What do we risk by asking questions? We risk a hell of a lot more by not asking them, in my opinion.
The fact is that 9/11 conspiracy theories exist for a number of reasons. Chiefly, it's because the Bush Administration expertly produced and manipulated a climate of fear after 9/11 in order to take us to war with Iraq. They didn't do the deed, but they certainly used it to ther advantage. Secondly, no one in American government was ever held responsible for 9/11. Politicians were content to lay the blame on the terrorists, as if American defenses did everything they could to prevent it. Obviously that's not the case. People ****** up on 9/11. They were people whose jobs it was to protect us. Those people were never held accountable, and that pissed a lot of people off. In an environment like that - with Bush using 9/11 to his advantage and no one getting anything close to a slap on the wrist - of course you're going to get stories about the government doing it. It's an extreme response to a legitimate feeling.

Look at the responses on this web site! There are people who believe that Iraq had something to do with 9/11.
By the way if you do research F 9/11 you will find that most of the information in it is true, however he did by omission make it look worse for Bush. The sad part is that many look at it as all truth or all lies, not the reality that it is somewhere in between and more like an op-ed with supporting facts.

Did you know that the government asked some top movie producers in Hollywood to specuate on what they thought the next attack would be like(after 9-11)???? Politics and movies go hand in hand. Have you seen the movie "Enemy of the State" with Will Smith? That movie was so true that it was scary.
But to some...the truth doesn't make any difference. They believe everything the government tells them.....even if it is lies...and proven to be so later on.

for the same reason people believe the propaganda of the bush administration. it easily fits what they would like to believe. michael moore is like ann coulter. never blindly believe anyone or anything, study as many sources as you can with an open mind. never close your mind to learning. when you discount any info as propaganda without examining/researching it,that is a sign your mind is closed

I would say narrow mindedness. They are either to filled with hate to realize what they are watching/believing is nonsense.
I really don't know. That is the best thing I could think of

the whole purpose of Moore's and other's movies is to question what you see and hear, and keep questioning it!!!
if people like you were as open-minded, and logical as you claim to be, you would see that nice little reality. But unforunately, i guess you have been asleep far to long to be awakened!
