If you plan to breastfeed, get nursing bras. They adjust to changing sizes.

I went ahead and bought my maternity/nursing bras. But if you are not going to nurse there is no reason to get anything other than a larger size bra. Though, none that I've found have been very comfortable except 1. But I was a 36DD only to grow to a 36-38 E. Some fit some didn't. I even tried the switching the sizes by going up in the # and down in the cup and that was worse. Nothing like your boobies slipping out from underneath as you a walking down the hall at work. Waiting till after delivery, I got a certificate to be fitted for bras.

I've never heard of, or seen a maternity bra so I have no clue what that is. I think some maternity stores sell bra extenders as many women get bigger around the rib cage without much change in cup size.
I would just buy the best fitting regular bra you can that is CHEAP. Because you aren't going to be wearing it long. You may find sports bras (thick ones) to be more comfortable if you are tender. It depends on what feels best for you.
Don't bother buying more that one nursing bra until about 2 weeks after the baby is born. Your size and shape will change dramaticaly right after the baby. For right after you have the baby one of the looser sleeping nursing bras is probably best. You aren't going to be running a lot or jumping around anyway. You just want something comfortable.

I'm not sure that nursing bras are necessary this early on. I just went to the store and got a 6 pack of sports bras (in 2 different sizes). One size fits perfectly now, and the other size I'm sure will fit soon.
I'm 8 weeks along and although I only started at a 34B , I felt like I needed extra support immediately. Now, I wear the sports bra every moment of the day that I'm not in the shower. It provides great support and is comfortable to sleep in. Plus, at $10/pack, they're a real bargain.

I wore a nursing bra during my pregnancy. It's pretty much the same thing as a maternity bra. If you want to avoid spending too much, definitely buy the nursing bras...you will save money because you are able to wear them both during and after pregnancy.

My wife found that a nursing bra offered good support. But don't buy one too early. Your bust size will be changing up to delivery time, and even after. But have one or two before the baby is born, and you can buy more, later.
Talk to your OB/GYN or a nurse when you take a breastfeeding class. (Highly recommended, and even as I guy I attended with the wife.) Also, get fitted at a decent place for bras. If the salesperson doesn't have a clue, go elsewhere to buy one!

not all women buy nursing bras but I recommend them. What the difference is, is that they have a clasp at the top of the cup so that it makes it easier for you to nurse. Now if you don't plan to breastfeed your baby, then it may just be a waste of your money. I bought some of my bras at Motherhood Maternity and others at Wal-mart. They cost about the same ranging from $11.00 dollars to $16.00 dollars.

Hi, I recently got measured for Maternity bra from Marks & Spencer. They have 2 in a pack for £10 which I thought was reasonable, they are non-wired and very comfortable. It was a free measuring service too which is all good when you have a little one on the way.

The only ones that I wanted to use were nursing bras, they seemed to be giving me more support that others and I could use them after my pregnancy too...

I had planned on nursing my daughter, so I went ahead and bought nursing bra's. They were very supportive and comfortable. I think they're easier to find than maternity bras, so they may be less expensive. I know Kohl's, Sears and JC Penney all carry them.

Buy a (granny)bra with a wide band and wide shoulder straps. I couldn't go without the wire for extra support. The best/most inexpensive place to buy a good bra is Ross or Marshalls.
