I am unable to attend on-campus courses due to some health problems (I had to drop out of Indiana University) and I am looking for REPUTABLE universities that offer either biology or geology programs through distance education. I am interested in persuing a career in paleontology. Any ideas?

When I said "online degrees," I meant a reputable college that offers their degrees online. Not something like the U of Phoenix or DeVry. I mean, for instance, Indiana University which offers certain programs online, or Indiana State University that offers Criminal Justice, etc. :)

I am delighted that you know the difference between reputable universities and diploma mills.

Below are three superb links that will enable you to find the distance education courses you are looking for. For instance, the first link is to a list of Research 1 universities with distance education programs. These courses are reputable, and their credits are transferable.

You will have to do a small bit of research to find which of these schools offer the particular courses you are seeking, but these links will lead you there.

Best wishes to you!

i think of to get an completely on line degree is to omit out on the social element of faculty and have decreased interplay with your professor. a private relationship with a prof or profs you like may be very rewarding. besides the undeniable fact that, a internet classification or degree does take discipline because of the fact it generally demands on a regular basis log-ins and no persist with up from the professor on initiatives. that could be a commerce off. and fairly, your degree does not state no remember if the degree became won online or not. So your attitude might desire to be which you enjoyed the social studying and networking for a time then transitioned into the internet training so which you will possibly desire to concentration on self-progression in a artwork subject.

I think you should try The Open University. It is a distance learning university, which is highly experienced with on-line studies. I believe it has some 300,00 students. Although based in the UK, it has contact points all over the world. I took my MA in Literature with them and they were both academically rigorous and very supportive. Try contacting them at:

I believe that online courses are just as good as going to the college especially if you can't go to a college at least your going to future your education anyways. Sometimes people can't go the college for any reasons. I can't remeber all the colleges that to online courses but if I remeber correctly Westwood does I think. If I were you I'd call or watch for their commericals on tv. Go online and search Google for college courses online.
