I've found that all you can do is really pray. Here's a crazy concept that works: Belive in the fact that you are powerless over anything outside of yourself. Too many people think that they can change the world, stop racism and hunger, and a world of other tides of change. All you can REALLY do, is make sure that you are keeping yourself up. It may sound selfish. but EVERYONE in the world subscribed to this belief (and I'm really not trying to sound preachy), I feel the world would be a much better place. You can always educate people on how detrimental to society racism is (I mean c'mon, the only true native americans are the American Indian tribes and even THEY face racism and predjudice; that's MESSED UP!), but you can never really change hopw another person thinks and feels. It is IMPOSSIBLE. So, keep your head up, just yours, and I'll do the same for me. God bless.

if the people/media/special interest groups etc..would stop putting such an emphases on different ethnic backgrounds..maybe it would slowly fade out...

Instead of "he was a proud black man" or a "he was a proud white man"...maybe use the the term " he was a proud man"...

If people would stop thinking in the color of skin and concentrate more on what is under the skin....things might be a whole lot different....as long as ethnic divisions is made ..there will always be room for racism..........the more emphases made in these division the greater the racism ..the less emphases made...the less room for racism to take hold.........

and this all starts at home...from the beginning a child has these "diversity" shoved down their throat in everything they see and everywhere they go....they are shown right from the start which "group" they belong to..and the separation begins....

just my opinion...........

First, ensure that what you term "racism" is the actual dislike of another because of the amount of pigmentation contained in another's skin.

In my travels across the world I have met very few people who judge another because of flesh tone.

Mainly, I see people being judged by their behavior.

A more apt term than "racism" may be "beavioralism" or "culturalism."

I say "culturalism" since some behaviors are based upon the culture one portrays.

Some cultures permit female genital multilation. One group using that practice are dark-skinned African Muslims in certain areas of northeast Africa. Disliking those folks for doing that.... well, they are Black so, ergo.... YOU ARE RACIST!!!!!!

Ponder upon that.

Racist/racism..... an overused term that reflects the preponderence of knee-jerk rhetoric and a lack of educational attainment that assists in critical thinking.

Buzz word. A term used in marketing. Applicable to the way "racist/racism" is used so much when skin color has little to nothing to do when that term(s) are used.

Stop grouping humans into races....we are just another breed of animal, just like dogs and cats...and just like there are many different kinds of dogs, there are different kinds of humans. We are no different. We should also stop using the word "race" as this implies that there is a winner, and since there is no difference in humans other than how we choose to live our lives..then how can their be a winner? No one gets out of this alive...we all die in the end! If we look at people like just another breed of domesticated animal then perhaps all of the racism will stop. Works for me!

Unfortunately, I don't see racism being eradictated everywhere. Hate seems to breed hate. Some months ago, one of the news programs did a story on these little girls, raised by parents of the white supremacy variety...and because of their parents, these girls think it's only natural to treat all other 'races' as second classes citizens (and that's being generous)...as a matter of fact, apparently these girls are singers and they tour with their little hate groups. It truly is pathetic. More like sickening. So yeah...unfortunately, it's not going to be truly eradicated unless you round up all of these hate mongers and destroy them or at least sterilize them so that they can no longer reproduce. But to do that, hell...you're equal to Hitler and that's definitely not wanted!

well, education plays an enormous role - so starting to teach your children is an important first step.

however, this has as well to do with opportunities, justice, wealth and equitableness. As long as a few people corner the world's collective wealth while others starve, there will be no end to racism.

There are always going to be people who think their race, religion or sex is superior to other. I believe a majority of it is in the way in how a person is raised and some of it is in religious brainwashing. We have to have orginizations that ensure woman and minorities have equal rights to those of men when it comes to job equality and there is still descrepecies between pay and the hiring process. Education is the key to change, but it is a slow process. Look at how long it took for slavery, woman's rights, black rights, ect,

I agree, its a cycle that keeps being repeated through our children, teach them to love and respect everyone. It's a big job but we have to believe that it will happen one day or we'll have nothing to hope for.
