Of course we should. We have a responibility to keep the human race healthy and it should start with children.

The short answer is NO!!!!!
However, crisps contain a large amount of salt (Sodium chloride). The human organism only requires a small amount of salt for its daily needs - hence for a child the amount of salt needed is even less again.
Crisps should only be eaten as a treat, say once a week.
Salt is known to make the human organism retain fluid in the body, hence put on weight. Remember if you eat something salty, you are thirsty afterwards, and want to drink water, fruit juice etc., Unlike salt, tea and coffee are diuretics, - they make humans want to urinate - loose fluid.
With respect to chips - if they are made at home by peeling potatoes and frying in oil - no problem !!!
However, if they are from a frozen packet, they will contain preservative salt - hence making on retain fluid and put on weight.
Like all dietary needs a greater variety of food is more beneficial to the human organism, so like crisps, chips should only be eaten say once or twice a week.
The human organism has not biologically evolved to eat 'processed' foods. It is far more beneficial to eat as much natural foodstuffs as possible and home-made peeled and fried in oil chips are a more natural foodstuff.
NB The human organism is an omnivore - it can eat both meat and vegetable foods. It is neither a carnivore nor a herbivore.

if you with hold these things from the children the minute they are away from you they will pig out on all the food their not allowed to eat.
Its like alcohol my parents let me have the odd drink now and again so when I was 16 17 and did'nt go off binge drinking, as it didn't seem such a big deal.
there is a limit to how much a child should have but I dont see why crisps and chips in a balanced diet are bad for your child as long as healthier foods are rotated during the week,
Its common sense really

Finally, crisps is a bad kind of food but children cant stop it and acutually some adults too thats alright but we should not push our selves to hurt our health and body by eating more than 1 bag of crisps at least every 2 days, for avoiding yourself from skin and body deseases

if we're controlling who can and can't smoke cigarettes and drink alcohol then perhaps we should be looking at controlling who eats what as well... true there is a point of personal freedom but we can't be picky... thanks to sweets, crisps etc being made so readily available where perhaps children are not being given proper meals or a basic nutritional education by their parents. After all the diseases related to poor diet are even more prolific in our society nowadays than those associated with smoking.

Way back when I was a kid, we ate rubbish like crisps and chips in between our home cooked meals and it didn't do us much harm coz we would go outside for hours on end and run around fields, build dens, climb trees, ride our bikes, skateboard and a whole load of other energy burning things.
Nowadays kids eat the crap and sit infront of their playstation and tv.

The answer is prob yes when it comes to your course work. if you are going to give it to them then it must be in small quantities.
Part from ya coursework, then NO. ok dont let kids live off them but it don't hurt them once in a while. theres too much 'healthy living' around. In every food that they class as unhealthy, guaranteed there is something in there that is good for you.

Not nessacarily stop, but we should try to cut down on children's (and adults for that matter) intake of junk food and increase the amount of exercise they get.

no just limit the amount. Dont destroy childhood memories like that..... a good up bringing and good healthy meals should help balance their diet. Its all down to the parents!! PLUS the more you deny it the more they want it!
