I liked Bush but he seems to have messed up in Iraq w/ an endless war and over 3,000 dead Americans for non-existant WMDs. Now he wants to combine the worst of LBJ (escalation) and Nixon's (secret) plan.

As Commander in Chief shouldn't Pr. Bush be held accountable for his job performance like all other employees?
Has he and the NeoCons done a good job in Iraq?
Over 3000 dead Americans and $450 BIllions dollars to replace Saddam with an insurgency and greater instability in the MiddleEast.
Jerry Brown for President in 2008! It's a done deal!.

I'm Not insulting anybody but if we don't use tactical nuclear weapons ( which would be unethical) or put in at least 80,000 more troops (for the next 5-18 years) for counter-insurgency and state building then success would be very difficult.
Check what Kissinger said!

I think people should stop with all the armchair quarterbacking. I remember all the bitching because people were claiming that he did not send enough troops ( even though as president he follows the advice the generals on the ground says what they need) and yes there will always be people that disagree, now he is sending in more troops we get the same armchairs quarterbacks saying that this is a mistake.

I have come to the conclusion that the Bush haters is basically a mental condition and no matter what this president do there is going to be a jerk reaction from them that says wrong decision.

It seems the Iraqis have taken it to another level for us, a civil and sectarian war. If it was a secret, then they should all be shot for treason because the so-called escalation plan has been floated out loud for at least three weeks now. We really do have to ask if American live should be involved in sectarian fighting. Sure, we broke it, but they threw away the pieces and its not going to go back together. Neo cons have played God with the idea that democracy is suited to the Iraqis at this time. What they need is another miserable dictator to keep them in a state of terror of their own lives so they will stop taking ours. Our chance to hold Bush accountable passed in the last election, but we were too busy discussing gay marriage and if Kerry deserved his medals in Viet Nam to be bothered looking at Bush.
Maybe we got what we deserved in a world of tabloid trash.

I think the recent polls and the mid-term election already told us how the American people viewed the issue of Iraq, President Bush and the Republican Party. There's no need to pour salt on the wounds of those who still support his policies.

They are in the minority now but 30% of our fellow citizens still amounts to one third of the nation and we need to respect their views and feelings even if we disagree with them. Not all of those who support President Bush's war policies are right wing nuts. Many are patriotic Americans who care about our country as much as you and I do and feel that we need to be in Iraq to protect our security in the worldwide war on terror.

The number of those who actually profit from that war is very few: not everyone is a high level exec or a big shareholder at Bechtel or Halliburton. Those who abuse the Iraqis are also very few as I'm told many of our troops actually go out of their way to avoid civilian casualties and to be helpful to the local population.

While I think it's wrong to blindly support the President's policies I also think it's wrong to dismiss everything he does as bad or unworkable, especially well in advance. Let us work together as one nation and one people to get out of this mess.

Nope, it truly is a LBJ bypass. we will be there till Jesus makes a shopper visual attraction on the Apollo. they're attempting to apply a stripped down version of the Powell doctrine. Secretary Powell grew to change into out to be good once lower back. i am going to in no way comprehend why he went on the loopy aspect.

Like you, i liked Bush, but he has royally screwed himself and dug himself deeper and deeper in a hole of stupidity. I understand that he can't pull all of our troops out, it'd cause mass unstability and chaos, but to actually add a significant amount of additional troops and more money? We did our purpose there, Saddam is out and dead, good job, lets leave some troops there, dont put more there, and let the Iraqis rebuild themselves.

My you are well connected to know the secret plan and to expect us all to have an opinion on something that has not been unveiled as yet.
Your insults speak loudly of you.
I for one am happy with this President. When I hear the new plan and have studied it as much as one publicly can, I will then let you know my opinion.

It's time to take it to another Level. A lot of us, have been wanting him to do just that, for so long. It's awful that he waited `til The Dem's took over.
