Alright im so confused, I was suppose to start my period on Jan 6 nothing at all. On Jan 5th I took a hpt test got a faint postive. I have been having period like cramps since thursday and yesterday I have been spotting along with today. Im making a dr's appointment to find out what is going on. Is this normal in pregnancy to bleed a little? THe Blood is brown and a slighty pink. Theres not much like it would be during my period, not enough to use a maxi pad or anything but im confused. Has anyone ever had the same problem?

When i done that i was miscarrying. I did not have a whole lot of bleeding but i did hurt alot in my back and stomach. I was also tired. The blood was red to light red to brown in color with no clots. I was 5 weeks when i miscarried.

Hey, I got a positive test but my period started anyway! Huh? Since some HPT's are so sensitive, they can detect a pregnancy in its very early stages. Unfortunately, it's estimated that up to 50% of pregnancies are lost very early on. In the past, most women did not even realize they were pregnant-- their periods would arrive on time, or perhaps a day or two late. Now, women testing very early may get a positive test, but experience bleeding almost immediately afterwards. This is an early miscarriage, also referred to as a "chemical pregnancy." It is likely that you did conceive and the embryo implanted for a short time before dying. This miscarriage is "disguised" as a period because the bleeding happens right around the time you would expect your period. Because this is so common, you probably have nothing to worry about, medically speaking, if it happens to you once or twice (although it is still heartbreaking when it happens!) If, however, this happens to you more than a couple times, or in consecutive pregnancies, you should discuss it with your doctor, as this can signal a problem (which can oftentimes be corrected with minimal treatment.)

That said, it is also possible to experience some spotting or bleeding and still have a healthy pregnancy, so don't panic! It may be implantation bleeding (from your baby snuggling in your uterus for a nice long stay!) If you experience bleeding after a positive pregnancy test, you should call your doctor.

When I first found out I was pregnant I just took the pregnancy test because I just didn't feel right, if that makes sense. I took a pregnancy test and had one vivid line and real faint line. I was still having "periods". They weren't any thing like what they usually are. They were real light. I had the cramps and all. I was so worried but they assured me it was normal and it was just my bodies way of changing and preparing for the pregnancy.
Every person and pregnancy is different. So don't let anyone worry you until you talk to the doctor. When I asked people about it before I went to the doctor they said I was going to have a miscarriage and everything, had me scared to death. Just listen to your doctor. The last thing you need to do is worry. I had no problems or complications during my pregnancy or labor. I have a very healthy and beautiful baby girl!!

Good Luck!! and Congratulations!!!

It is perfectly normal to be pregnant and have menstrual-type cramps and light bleeding. Most times, it does not mean a miscarriage. I didn't bleed, but I did have menstrual-type cramps for 6 weeks or so. You are making the good choice to go to the doctor and make sure everything's ok, though.

You should see a doctor asap if you want to have this baby or you might lose it. I had bleeding while I was 3 months pregnant and had to be given medications and complete bed rest so that I would not lose the baby. If it's only a little blood and goes away immediately, it could be normal but if I were you, I would go the emergency room now.

If you handed clots then lamentably, it maybe a miscarriage. I'm no medical professional so do not take my phrase in this however considering that you had a confident scan earlier than, it simply facets toward an early miscarriage. Do verify together with your OB/GYN. Wish you success!

As long as the blood is not bright red, you should be fine. Some people do spot during the first trimester, I don't know how common it is though.

could be implantation bleeding, or it could be an early signs of miscarriage...its good that you are making an appointment, get in right away and if they cant get you in go to the ER just to be safe.
good luck
