I think whenever someone is put to death and half the world rejoices....that that's evil. And weird.

I haven't seen it, and I don't want to.
It doesn't take to much intelligence to realise that dropping a person through a trap door with a noose around his neck in a fashion designed to snap his neck and sever his spinal cord is quiet a violent and disturbing thing to watch.
Forgetting for a moment the arguments about what he was responsible for, why would you think that viewing the death of a person would be anything other than awful?

I haven't seen it and don't want to, same with Ken Bigley. Saddam was a cruel man but he was a President...two wrongs don't make a right. He was never a terrorist because he was too interested in lining his own pockets...a very Western trait...Bush made that one up, same as weapons of mass destruction...all lies..it is true to say though that if he had commited the same cruelties in an African country with no oil, he would still be in power and receiving the red carpet treatment in this country.

I haven't watched it and I never will, I know that it will disturb me. d I haven't seen the pictures, I've refused to and have had my family turn all of the papers over when they were on the front cover over the new year. I think that he is one of the most deplorable people to walk this planet but why the press assume that we're all comfortable with looking at such images is beyond me.
Having said that, don't worry about having your curiosity get the better of you. try and think about something more uplifting instead.

Someone said here, "Saddam had it coming"... and it could be... because he killed 100's of thousands. I'm not sure what the exact figure is, but I know that 100,000 to 600,000 Iraqi civilians have been killed since the so-called 'war' was shoved down everybody's throat by BushCorp. I also know, as do most people, that this so-called 'war' had nothing to do with 9/11, the alleged highjackers according to the official story were Saudi Arabian (if you believe the official story and if you haven't bothered to look into 9/11 truth research about the impossible collapse of the WTC buildings, impossible without demolition explosives set into the buildings beforehand)... I also know that 85% of troops believed they were in Iraq to "retaliate for Saddam's role in 9/11", which is of course, false, and the result of military brainwashing/indoctrination. I also know that the pushers for the Iraq war, key members in BushCo., including Dick Cheney and his long-time buddy Donald Rumsfeld, had been pushing for this war since 1998 and longer.
So if Saddam got what he had coming, does this mean that BushCo. will get it too? After all they, killed hundreds of thousands too, including thousands of their own citizens on 9/11.

yes, but surely not as horrific as the atrocities he was responsible for. if we could see video footage of those, it would certainly put a complete perspective on the subject. it's easy to forget about the evil he & the other enemies we are at war with are responsible for, when we rarely or never see images of all the murders and destruction they've caused

Made you a little sick and uncomfortable didn't it? It should. Death isn't fun to watch. Criminals, murderer's especially should have to watch it so they might realize being executed isn't fun. But wait, that might hurt their feelings so the ACLU will sue to prevent it.....Aw heck, you know what I mean! I gaurantee that other tyrant leaders are probably having some second thoughts about they way they treat their people....

Funny how society entertains themselves with death and violence with movies and music, but when faced with the "reality" of "real" death its very uncomfortable. Good. It should be. He was a cruel man and caused the death of many, but when down to his last moments of life, he became humble and scared. Reality hit him when that rope touched his skin and then took his life. Death is not funny nor is it entertaining; regardless of who it is. He got what he deserved and justice was served, but even seeing a monster such as himself put to death is not fulfilling.

OMG, I hate it. It gives me the creeps every time I see it, it's horrible - and so wrong!I can't believe I'm saying it, but I felt sorry for the guy. I know he was a monster, but this is not the way to deal with him. And anyway, shouldn't he have been on death row first?

Only saw him stepping forward to be hung. Was it any worse than the gassed bodies of his victims which was shown? Should have been videod only for the courts.

I think people who watch it and they claim they don't know why need to be honest with themselves about thier life values.
Of course its bound to be horrific. I can tell that and I've never seen it.
What did you expect ?
