NIGHT: A simple black dress should do fine. Accent with pearls or a simple chain. No heavy jewelry and avoid flashy accessories. A nice wrap will complement your attire nicely, unless its cold then maybe a nice lined blazer. If wearing black the blazer should be a dark color, blue, hunter green, purple, but dark. Heels to match wrap/blazer if possible or basic black is fine too. A small clutch purse to match shoes.
DAY: something a bit warmer I would think, brown, Burgundy, med blue, teal for dress. Wrap/Blazer to coordinate. Brown dress/Burgundy blazer, green dress/teal blazer, blue dress teal/blazer. Any combo Burgundy dress/brown blazer. Like that . Still soft accessories, and shoes/clutch to match. Have fun and enjoy :)
P.S. You could always happen by the day/night before and see what the other ladies are wearing. :)
P.S.S. After reading some of the other answers I have to remind you it's still winter, white and like colors are out for now. :)

I would wear a nice black skirt or pants and a pretty top, sort of smart but not OTT. If it says no dress code then i imagine there will be all kinds of different styles of dress from jeans to suits. Go somewhere in between. Have fun x

Nobody really dresses up for the theatre anymore. If I were you I would dress ina similar way to if you were going to a nice restaurant, keep away from the t-shirt jeans look but nothing too grand a happy medium is best.

My first instinct is always to play it safe---you can't miss with a cocktail dress and kitten heels. However, I might also suggest that you take advantage of information provided by a nearby hotel concierge. Checking the internet I see the Rathbone Hotel is near the theatre: their concierge can most likely answer this question with certainty. You can email and save the expense of phoning. Good luck and enjoy!

I think you must wear something traditional. If you do not have anything ethnic you can probably go for gown or one piece (it could be in floral prints or light pastel shades, black or cream will look good too). Otherwise you can opt for a blazer, not necessary black. Even white or yellow will look unique. You can wear a long skirt with umbrella cut with plates. You can miss-match anything from your wardrobe. Try to be ethnic or formal or traditional. So now just spend your hours in your cupboard. Have a good luck and enjoy your ballet.

I go a bit dressier than some of the others suggested. Maybe something like a black cocktail dress and long coat if it's appropriate to the weather.
