I have read that we write our own charts before we come into this world. We chose our parents, our children, the lessons we want to learn, etc. So I would say before conception.

Clones may have the same genetics but they have distinct souls. That implies fertilization, the union of two genetic info does not necessarily mean new soul. Do protozoans have soul? Don't think so. Life does not mean soul. When a zygote starts dividing, does that necessarily mean a soul has entered it? Probably no. Soul resides, it seems to me in the brain, the psyche, the limbic system. Thus a soul seems to exist once the brain has formed and begins to function, begins receiving information from outside and responding to it and begins forming synapses and memories. Nevertheless, gametogenesis, fertilization, embryonic development are all part of the divine procreative plan. The sanctity of such things shall not be violated.

it is there at the moment of conception, and as the baby grows the soul grows, like winding yarn around a stick, it grows larger and has more substance as the person grows. I cant believe there is some magic moment when the soul enters.

According to the Bible, the soul is a living person...when the body is animated (or quickened)...that is, when the breath of life (pneumos/spirit) enters the body. body+spirit=soul Genesis 2:7, "And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul." Therefore, the soul is not a separate part of the person, it is the living person. The part that is a gift from God is the breath of life (often called the spirit)...when we die, that breath of life returns to God. It is not a consciousness by any means, merely the source of life, or 'life force'. soul-spirit=corpse

I believe it is at conception. At that moment, the child is a living being. When I got pregnant with my son, I felt "sparkles" inside my belly. It was so weird! But I KNOW in my heart and soul, that was the moment he came into being. And it was not right after sex. It was a few hours later. This is why I don't believe in abortion. This all is just my opinion.

I think that a soul enters a body when a child is conceived cause even if he is unborn,he can feel his mother,he can move and he can even feel love coming from ''outside''
