Hi, I was feeling faint a few times past few weeks and when I checked my blood pressure, it was 97/48. What are the risks if it continues to stay low and what do i need to do? I also got my period after 12 days again this time..

Your blood pressure 97/48 is normal for some people. For instance if you are very thin this is quite normal. And feeling faint could be because of low blood sugar. Are you dieting or skipping meals? Make sure you eat a good sized breakfast in the morning even if you don't feel that hungry. When you feel faint, eat something, a snack say of raw almonds, or some fruit. And don't worry this in no way will affect your period.

3 years ago, I was diagnosed - hypertension with a reading of 160/100. I used to feel dizzy a lot, my legs had awful cramps, and levels were very low in my potassium, causing my fingers and toes to always cramp together. One day I started to feel really faint while I was driving with my daughter in the back seat and I passed out, hitting 3 cars and ending up in a ditch. That moment,I knew I had to do something because my meds weren't working. I heard about this diet from a friend and thought I'd give it a shot. The results have been remarkable. In just 21 days, I honestly can't remember feeling this good, my blood pressure went from 175/110 to 125/70.

If you are not normally prone to low blood pressure, you should check with your doctor. I don't think there are any great risks (next to the obvious uncomfortable ones) but you are one of the lucky few who can handle copious amounts of caffeine. If you felt faint while on your period you could either be anemic or experiencing a huge hormone flux. You should check w/your doctor.

I too suffer from low blood pressure mine was 70/40 the other day and i was on my period for 3 weeks - what i find helps alot is raw spinach and lots of salty things like a cracker with marmite, biltong, chips with lots of salt. the salt will make you thirsty water is good for that. if this persists consult your doctor to get medication that will help - good luck.

depending on what your normal is this may not be too low... you need to discuss this with your doctor... not sure why you added the fact that your period came in 12 days.... you questins is very vague from a medical standpoint.. there is much more to assessing your problem then the info you gave...
