I am 24 yrs old and have been married twice already. My parents could not stand my first hubby who i met while in college at a club where he was an ultimate fighter.I fell head over feel and eloped with him after 3 months.Problems were numerous to say the least he had never graduated from highschool and he was participating in illegal fights to make ends meet.My parent continued to pay for my college tuition but cut off all ties with me and when i graduated college i was 3 months pregnant. After i gave birth to my daughter he became violent and in a fight with me over money broke my jaw.I divorced him and married my divorce lawyer who i thought i was in love with that marriage lasted only a year an half before i found out he was a womanizer and a con-man.At this point i am terrified of dating anyone or trusting people? I have moved back home to my parents and already my mom wants me to go on a date with her friends son?

It is just a date. Is there really any harm in going out with someone just for companionship? No one is saying you have to marry the guy. You are in control here. I think it might do you some good to get out there and have a little "me" time with other adults.

You just need to slow down some when you date. Have you really looked at both of your first marriages and how you met and how quickly you moved on the marriage thing. you are still YOUNG and learning who you are and what you want...no need to be married at such a young age. Now you are getting a little older it might actually make sense to date and one day marry if you find the right person...but make sure you date for closer to a year with your past issues so you can get through those beginning stages of a relationship

You can do either of two things: #1 - go on the date as a courtesy to your mom and dad OR #2 - politely tell your mom you are not ready --- you are only 24, you have your entire life ahead of you. If you DO go on the date, make sure you don't get involved with the guy. Don't give him your number/email, etc.

The problem isn't with your parents but with you. You have no sense of desgretion, sounds like you jump into bed with any guy who would look your way. You will continue to have the sort of relationships with men as you've had in the past until YOU change. Your mother must not like her friend very much if she is trying to fix the friend's son up with you.

Tell your parents how you feel, and that you're not ready to settle down again, or to date anyone. Understandably, they're probably concerned over the choices you made, but let them know that you've learned a couple of life's lessons. When you're ready, you'll date again.

Tell your mother has she noticed the way this guy is always grabbing at his crotch when he thinks no one is watching? Tell her that worries you.
