Last Saturday night the Cowboys were awarded a first down at the Seattle 1-yard line with about 1 minute to play and then the referees reversed their decision after review. Do you think Dallas got the first down or not?
I don't think the Cowboys would've won the Super Bowl this year because they were playing lousy the last 5 weeks. But we'll never know because the ref blew the call, in my opinion.
When I saw the play live it looked like he got right to the first down marker. When I saw the replays it was still too close to call. The goal line camera looked like he was stopped short, but that angle was decieving. The other angles looked like he got farther.
Referees usually don't like to reverse their decisions. They aren't supposed to reverse their decisions unless there is "conclusive evidence". There was no such evidence on that play.
It would've been great to see what happened next. Seattle may have laid down so Dallas could score. What would Dallas have done?

I'm surprised by the responses. There have been 16 replies so far and not a one of them thinks the Cowboys really got the first down. Well, maybe I'm wrong.
As far as the post by "shadouse" I don't think that Parcels could have thrown the flag to protest because it happened during the last 2 minutes of the game. I think only the refs can decide to review a call during the final 2 minutes.

I'm not sure if he got the first down but was very surprised they over turned the call. With the camera angle that it was I wouldn't call it "conclusive evidence" but for whatever reason they overturned the call. You would think the line judge had a good view of where to mark the ball.
As for Seattle laying down to let Dallas score it not what would have happened. Parcells was going to have Romo knee down for 2 plays to run the clock down. Then try the field goal on 3rd down so if something like dropping the ball would have happened they would still have another down to try again.
The comment about Parcells didn't challenge the call so he must of agreed with it. You can't challenge a challenge. They already ruled it wasn't a first down. What is the point in challenging a call already overturned? Last Witten thought he had the first down and said if he knew it would have been overturn he would of just took a dive down onto the ground instead of fighting for a TD.

I wanted to see the Cowboys win, but when they showed the replay, it appeared that the refs were correct in reversing the call.
I think that you're right about Seattle lying down to let the Cowboys score. It was really the only thing that they could do to get the ball back with any significant play time left.
Look at the last possession by the Cowboys. They got the ball with 2 seconds in the game. They choked. I believe that the outcome would have been different if Parcels didn't put Romo in for that last play. He was too broken after fumbling the snap on the previous possession. That's probably what cost them the game.

If you are going to single out one play, that wouldn't be it. The Cowboys put themselves in position to win the game and choked. All they had to do was kick a chip shot field goal, Romo couldn't get the snap down. Poor fundamentals lost that game for the Cowboys, not the refs. This was no "tuck" play.

No...they lost because Romo is a snow flake in a frying pan. He CHOKED!(Should not be the PRO BOWL either) It had nothing to do with a reversed call...besides have you heard of home field advantage...sad to say but it still exists plus T.O. only had 26 yards! You CAN'T win games playing like that!!.....but I thought at least they would have gotten past the struggling Seahawks. I loved every minute of it too!....(Eagles Fan Right Here)

green Bay. they have the working game WR's and protection to circulate all they way. do not look to lots into the sport they lost in Dallas, the Packers rested gamers, and Favre have been given harm early. the 2nd string adult adult males in key positions performed nicely and might have pulled that one out if it wasn't for a pair undesirable calls and a million stop on third down. i'm hoping they play back, and the broke backs greater beneficial desire its not at Lambeau field.

I think he came up short. If he had of made it Romo would have been jumping up and down and Parcels would have thrown the flag to protest.

Dallas failed to get the first down by the final ruling enough said. As a Cincinnati fan I can feel your pain. Just simple short everyday kick and we continue...but oh my god I can't believe it our teams our home until preseason again. I only wonder how much money passed hands for these mistakes.
