Clever can mean a lot of things. Even whites can be very intelligent or clever, otherwise they would n't have dominated the world not only in the past but also at present. Only that Asians do not get so much exposure to wealth which could perhaps make them more educated or clever. Even Indians are pretty clever as one can find them all over the world, but at the same time they can also be quite dumb, which can also be in the case of white people. So making such a 'general' statement is not correct.

I think intelligence is down to your education, your parents (how well they have brought you up) your social status, i.e. its common knolwedge that southern counties in england have a higher average of intelligence than the northern, this only because of the standard of living, higher crime for example because the kids are on the streets not in school, richer people live own south therefore can afford better schools etc. So no i dont think its too do with your race or colour or anything such like that. i think its down to being lucky enough to be given the oppertunities and suport.

Its not that we're more intelligent, its because we're generally more driven to study, over the top even (ever heard of how hard Japanese and Singaporean parents push their kids?). Its also in the culture that we compete alot more in class as a sign of our 'success'.
All down to culture and general upbringing in the region.
