Well, smokers haven't really lost their rights yet, their just having them smothered out of them.
And ya know what,do all of those who answered badly twards smoking. Im sick of all these people dogging on smoking.
90% of the american population has a habit that is equally damaging or worse that contribute equally to the rising cost of health care and teen distruction.Too much of any one thing is dangerous.
People these days are addicted to any one of these things......food,fast food, chocolate, sodas, scoal, nyquil, nasal spray, health foods, pain killers, narcotics, pastrys, alcoholic beaverages, potatoe chips,CELL PHONES...............INTERNET. Is this a...my addiction is better than yours argument?
How about they start taxing any or ALL of those things...how would you cope?Espesially if they started taxing you 20 cents everytime you browsed to a new page online??
O...bet we would see some frustration equeal to a smokers then wouldn't we??? Why pick on just one? HELLO!
It could be your habit next.....so you might want to start learning a little hush hush. Its not about the nasty habit...don't you get it? Its about control and if they can control one area like this, then soon they will control all.Dont be a sheep. The prises were not raised be cause the government cares for you, they were raised to further the goverments own money addiction.
I'm willing to bet there are more over wieght teens in america than ones with smoking habits anyways.
And btw........now that the cost of smokes is rapidly climbing, i imagine that teens will find damaging things, such as alcohol............or crystal meth....crystal meth can be made right from your own medicine cabinet...and is now cheaper to make than a pack of smokes.........good luck with your teens.ha!

I in my view do not suppose that both endeavor must be confined. I now not smoke, however I didn't vote for the smoking ban. I do reside in Ohio incidentally. Yeah, moment hand smoke can reason critical disorders, however there weren't relatively many locations that smoke was once an predicament earlier than. It was once mostly most effective allowed within the smoking component to eating places, and in bars. Now, the ones are removed too. And good, such a lot humans in bars smoke (even supposing they do not in most cases). And, there have been non-smoking sections in eating places. I agree that the brand new legislation intervene with humans's rights. I don't suppose that prohibitive consuming legislation must be handed, although. I relatively suppose that during each instances it must be as much as the established order. That means, a few locations might enable alcohol, a few might enable smoke, a few might enable each, and a few might enable neither. Then every body might might discover locations that they're joyful. Oh, and being inebriated in public does no longer necesarily imply inebriated using. Drunk using may be very harmful, and there are legislation in opposition to it. However, being inebriated in public not often has extraordinarily critical penalties. Although, there are a few legislation in opposition to it. Personally, I suppose that there are too many legislation traditionally proscribing peoples rights. I can fully grasp being afflicted via the smoking bans, however why act identical and desire a public consuming ban?

Smokers have been targeted as if they are second class citizens.I do believe in not smoking inside public places.I can understand and respect their rights to have a smoke free establishment. But some have gone to the extreme of saying you can't smoke "outside" their place of business.Like hospitals are banning smoking, even while sitting in your own vehicles as long as you are on the premises.
I know a lot of Doctors who smoke and some are surgeons.A non smoker does not know how your nerves are effected when a smoker can't smoke.I for one don't want a surgeon who smokes cutting on me while he/she is craving a smoke...I call this another way of "Discrimination".What next, banning what you can eat or what music you can listen to..Or better yet,Banning alcoholic drinks..If it's not cigarettes, then it will be something else.
In the 80's I worked at a pork product plant and the FDA came out with this discovery that "nitrate' which is used to preserve pork products, can cause cancer..So, for all you who think smoking only causes cancer, think again next time you are eating a piece of ham or that slab of bacon..oink! oink!!

I think that most smokers don't realize how much of a problem they are to non smokers. Second had smoke or smoke in general bothers people and most smokers are considerate enough to ask people around them if they are allergic or intolerant, etc. I don't think that there is anything wrong with creating smoke free environments. Many people have suffered as a result of inhaling second hand smoke.
I personally don't like inhaling or smelling cigar nor cigarette smoke. And I definitely don't want to kiss someone with smokers breath! I prefer to lick an ashtray.

Probably not.
Personally I was against the smoking bill, I think its too oppressive to smokers, I would have preferred a policy where establishments could choose weather to be a non smoking venue or not, otherwise areas like bust stations and cinemas, etc should remain non-smoking.
That being said I will be glad to endure less passive smoke now.

If I'm out in the open, I don't care if someone around me smokes or not. However, in a restaurant, or other closed-in areas, I do not believe people should smoke.
By the way, I AM a smoker. Yes, some of my rights have been taken away, but overall I don't mind. I have kids, don't smoke around them, and would prefer others not smoke around them either. Therefore I have to agree with all these no-smoking laws.

Probably not. The anti smoking forces have convinced the policy makers that not only do smokers not have rights, but property owners have no right to decide what happens on their property.

If they ever ban cigarettes, the taxes will jump sky high, then just listen to the voters and nay sayers complain. It'll be fun to sit back and listen to them gripe and whine about their rights then. My grandmother and g.grandmother both died of lung cancer and neither of them smoked a day in their lives. Maybe it was all the exhaust fumes, the poison sprayed on the food they ate or polluted air from factories that got them. Ya think?

Oh, I hope not! I love being able to go into a restaurant and eat food without having to breathe someone else's smoke. Or go into a pub without having an asthma attack. Or sit in a cinema, able to see the screen without the veil of smoke obscuring it.
Sorry guys, love you all. Hate the smell of stale smoke, the gritty and weepy eyes. Love the fresh air.
If you can't give up smoking for a few hours while you socialise, you've got a problem.
