Mine was when I was 16. I was very much "in love" (perhaps just infatuated) with a girl who had been my classmate for five years. We were very good friends, and I always protected her. There was a guy who was a jerk to her, and once I even got in a fight with him because he had called her names (his family didn't like hers, long story).

Anyway, I decided not to be a chicken and asked her out for Valentine's. She was taken aback by my proposal and, as all women after her, deeply offended by it. So three more weeks went by and I spent yet another Valentine's walking alone in the streets of my town, and, surprise surprise, I met her downtown going to see a movie with, you guessed it, the guy who used to harrass her.

21 years after, I still spend my Valentine's walking alone or working, but now I'm old enough not to care. I can say, though, that I've never understood women too well. Although sometimes I almost think I do. Oh well.

What you are describing sounds exactly like a part out of a movie. I can't remember which one. You must still care because you brought her name up in initials. Sorry but can't fool me. You did say I hope she doesn't marry him.

I can't even remember any valentine's days sob stories. I only remember the good ones. Yes I have had my share of heartbreak and many of us have. I just don't have a memory about valentines day. I don't know why I can't remember.

I can remember about a guy I was dating gave me a yellow rose to go with my yellow dress I was wearing. I wanted a red one instead. I got upset because yellow means friendship and red means love.

He couldn't not get his flowers right. Every time he bought me flowers he gave me a flower he liked instead. I would say to him why don't you ever buy me roses? He would say because these flowers are much more prettier. lol

He was sweet in his own way and he would often make me laugh. Like the time we went to the men's perfume counter he took the cologne sample and sprayed it all over himself and said. See look now I don't have to buy it. The girls at the counter cracked up and I laughed so hard.

I can't think of a really bad one for me, since I don't really believe in Valentine's day. I mean, come on!! Hallmark invented it to make money!

But I did have a friend who cheated on his girlfriend. On valentines day. And caught the clap. and gave it to her. Then lied to her about it.

So I guess she has pretty much had the worst valentines day I have ever heard of. Whether she knows it or not.

Pretty much all of them suck now that I am married.
My birthday is a few days before, and I always hated combo gifts from boyfriends. Now that I am married, I am lucky to get either one recognized.
